Signature Process Enhancement – DocuSign-Style Signing Experience for Clients

Problem:
Users are reporting difficulty signing Inspection Agreements through ISN. Currently, clients are required to manually draw their signature using a mouse or touch screen, which can be challenging, especially for users on mobile devices or less tech-savvy clients. Some clients are unable to complete the signing process, which may delay inspections and create frustration for both inspectors and customers.
Platforms such as DocuSign provide a much simpler experience where users can click on a signature field and automatically apply a generated signature instead of manually drawing it. They believe the current signing process in ISN is more difficult than necessary.
• Example:
A customer reported that several of their clients struggle to sign agreements because:
They are using mobile devices where the signature field may not function properly.
They are required to manually draw a signature using a mouse.
Some email/mobile providers may restrict or interfere with opening the signing link.
This creates confusion and additional support requests for the inspection company.
• Suggested Solution:
Implement a more user-friendly e-signature experience similar to DocuSign, including:
Click-to-sign functionality
Auto-generated signature styles based on typed names
Improved mobile-friendly signing experience
Optional typed signatures instead of requiring manual drawing
Better compatibility across mobile devices and email providers
This could help reduce failed signatures, improve customer experience, and decrease support-related issues tied to agreement signing.
