Flash: Request for flash capability in the camera and the option for the flash setting to default to "on" for inspections..
Mobile input on iOS: Suggestion to make selecting checkboxes easier due to small box size. Right now it's difficult to select them.
Mobile photo editor: Suggestion for a default color setting for stickers to streamline the process.
Stickers: Request for quicker access to annotations without excessive clicks.
Request for a "report read record" feature to track who read reports and when.

Camera Lens Options / Offline Functionality

I'd like to request two key features:
Camera Lens Options: Currently, we are unable to access the fisheye/0.5x lens of our Samsung phone camera when taking photos within the Report Writer. As over half of our required photos utilize this format, having access to different lens options would greatly improve our efficiency.
Offline Functionality: We eagerly anticipate the ability to operate the RW app offline. This feature is crucial for our inspectors' workflow and would significantly enhance their productivity.
We understand that software updates take time, and we appreciate your attention to these requests. Please keep us updated on any progress regarding these features.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to improving the Report Writer app.

Thank you for posting, John Maxon CPBC 47615! I have a few more questions for you:
- Could you provide more details on how often you use the fisheye/0.5x lens feature in your workflow?
- What specific functionalities of the RW app do you need to access while offline?
- Could you share more about the impact of these features on your inspectors' productivity?

Janaya. Thank you for the questions.
We use the 0.5 for various/most 'close up' shots to allow 'more' in the photo - eg water heaters, furnaces, showers, bathrooms so likely majority of photos (expect for photos where we zoom in). We do try to take majority of photos in sideways mode so that all the photos in the report look the same (x wide by y long).
We want to be able to do the inspection offline entirely ideally - there are some areas we service that do not have good cell coverage OR we may lose coverage in some areas of home (basement/crawlspace). Work around is to take the photos on camera roll then add when back in coverage area however that is not ideal.
Anything that reduces the 'normal' functionality of the app can interrupt the work flow. So having a different experience in areas with coverage vs areas without coverage can impact the speed/accuracy of the inspection.
There also seems to be quite a lag when opening an inspection (expect that it is downloading from the cloud?) While I understand the benefit of 'continuous back up' of a cloud application this is less problematic than poor coverage operation.
I haven't actually tried switching to airplane mode/no wifi after opening an inspection so havent verified what the experience is when 'out of service'. Can I still enter data or does the app not allow changing categories etc unless connected?
In case you are not aware, I am a long time palm tech user so was previously able to use palm tech inspection designer to create more custom templates etc - ideally would like that option in RW. Thank you.
