Feature Request – Display Specific Electronic Payment Types on Invoice
Summary: A user has requested the ability to display specific electronic payment methods, such as Zelle, on invoices instead of the generic "Electronic" label. The user expressed frustration that this functionality previously worked but no longer does, and their clients prefer to see the exact payment method for their records. User Feedback: "I want Zelle to be on my invoice, not 'Electronic,' which many of my clients are not happy with. They want their payment to be clearly marked for their records as well. It is very frustrating to have something that used to work now no longer work with no good reason." Current Behavior: All electronic payments (Zelle, PayPal, Crypto, Cash App, etc.) are grouped under a single "Electronic" category. There is no built-in option to display the specific payment type on the invoice. The payment sections on the payment page are hardcoded, meaning support cannot modify them. Proposed Solution: Implement a feature that allows specific electronic payment types to be displayed on invoices instead of the generic "Electronic" label. Consider adding a customizable field within the order form where users can manually enter the payment type. Generate a replacement value from this field so it can be used in invoice templates. Alternative Workaround: A custom control can be created, allowing users to manually input the payment type within the order. This would generate a custom replacement value, which could then be inserted into the invoice template. Request Impact: Improves clarity for users and their clients regarding payment records. Addresses user frustration regarding a perceived loss of functionality. Enhances flexibility in how payment details are displayed on invoices.
